PRESS RELEASE: Donate instead of save in November
Wuerselen, November 18, 2022
Donate instead of save: Also this year, HÄNG Outdoors is counterbalancing the discount battle for Black Friday. The manufacturer of innovative outdoor products has the tagline “hang out and do good” for the day and is launching a month-long fundraiser.
For the third time in a row, the young start-up is donating all of its Black Friday profits. Additionally, 5% of all profits generated in November will be donated to charitable organizations.
The community selected the organizations that received the donation boost. “It is important to us that we involve our supporters. So there are always smaller clubs that we might not otherwise have on the screen.", says founder Tobias Tullius. As early as October, the company received more than 100 suggestions following a call. "Everything was really there - from the school festival to the local volunteer fire brigade to national clubs," says Tullius, "and every one of them is worth supporting."
Ultimately, the ten organizations that received the most submissions were put to the vote on Instagram. The community chose Sea-Watch, the DKMS and the animal shelter Oldenburg.
The Tierheim Oldenburg has been caring for animals in Oldenburg and the surrounding area for more than 50 years that have lost their homes - or have never had one. There are now around 1,800 animals a year who are dependent on the care of the animal shelter employees - and the trend is rising. In order to be able to cover the increasing costs, the shelter depends on donations.
The Sea-Watch e. V. has dedicated itself to civil sea rescue. Since June 2015, around 45,000 refugees have been saved from drowning in the Mediterranean. The Sea-Watch activists fight for and for every rescued person and against the isolationist policy of the European Union.
The German bone marrow donor file, in short DMMS, declared war on blood cancer in 1991. Today, the file counts more than 11.5 million donors who are willing to donate the life-saving stem cells if there is a genetic match. More than 100,000 people have already been helped in this way.
The commitment to the Eden Reforestation Projects remains unaffected. Of course, HÄNG also plants two trees for every order on BLACK FRIDAY. In addition, the start-up has committed itself to the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.
