Black Friday is over - THANK YOU!

Black Friday ist vorbei - DANKE!

HANGING OUT AND DOING GOOD

The first BLÄCK FRIDAY is over and we are absolutely thrilled. WOW! Thank you for ordering so diligently. We asked and you decided: 100% of the profit goes to your favorite organizations SeaWatch, TIERART and Protect Our Winters.

And, as always, we also planted a number of trees together. Today we want to tell you how it works. We have had a partnership with the Eden Reforestation Projects since 2019. So it is time to finally introduce the project to you in more detail.

Let's take it back to the start - Eden Reforestation Projects

It all started in 2004/2005 in Ethiopia. The landscape was almost completely destroyed due to deforestation. Poverty had driven people to simply fetch firewood from the woods. The formerly fertile land now looked like a desert, with droughts and famine as a result.

Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn knew that if the forests came back, hunger would stop. So he got help - in the form of Dr. Stephen Fitch. A year later he and his helpers had already planted 200,000 trees. The Eden Reforestation Projects were born.

All-rounder for people and nature

The principle is simple: locals are paid to plant trees. Poverty in the region declines - and with it so does the incentive to cut trees for firewood. Instead, the employees tend and care for the young trees. The result: reforestation has a success rate of over 80%.

Reforestation stations such as this now exist in Madagascar, Haiti, Nepal, Indonesia, Mozambique, Kenya, Nicaragua and Honduras, too. The Eden Reforestation Projects have now planted over 380 million trees - and around 15 million more trees are added every month! We owe several thousand of them to you. For that a big THANK YOU!

We are convinced of the combination of social and ecological responsibility. Because we believe: The world will become a lot fairer, greener and more beautiful this way.

By the way: You can now protect trees, too, when hanging out. Do you already know our new tree protectors SÄVE?
